How long can I store gas canisters?Updated 4 hours ago
Gas canisters do not have a fixed expiration date when stored safely and appropriately. They should be kept in a cool, dry place, as rust and corrosion on the canister or valve are the main factors that can affect their condition.
Our supplier recommends a use-by date of 3 years from the manufacturing date. The date/code on the bottom of the canister shows when it was produced.
If stored correctly and kept completely free from rust and corrosion, a canister may remain in good condition for considerably longer. However, for older canisters, we recommend taking a cautious approach. As an additional safety precaution, we generally recommend replacing canisters that are around 10 years old, even if they appear to be in good condition.
Always inspect the canister before use and never use one showing signs of rust, corrosion, damage, or issues with the valve.
